TODAY STARTS BIKE WEEK!

GET YOUR BIKE OUT AND RIDE! Where? To work, the grocery store, other errands, the beach, a friends house, the park, etc.  It doesn't really matter where, as long as you're biking!  If you're in downtown LA there are fun things going on (check here). Otherwise, we can just celebrate on our own...

I'll hopefully start celebrating tomorrow.  I didn't get my bike back on Sat. (its getting a tune-up) and I had to take a friend to work (his car broke down) today, but you best be sure I'll be biking my soon-to-be-little-legs off this week!

The above web-site also has a link to a cool CO2 calculator...see how much you're not emitting into the atmosphere!

Get out and ride!

Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay

I was looking for a new pic for my title backdrop and found this little lovely:
It was taken during a visit for my brother-in-law's baptism. We took the kids to Turtle Bay for a walk and to look at animals. This was taken on the walk. Visit Redding, CA.

The Garden "...land, people, food = Happy Days."

I came across the following trailer for a documentary, The Garden:
"The film centers around a community garden that was started after the Los Angeles Riots in 1992. It was 14 acres of farmland on the outskirts of Downtown Los Angeles maintained by the South Central Farmers. It also happens to be the largest urban garden in America."  I think this is pretty messed up.  I understand the motive for politicians behind it, but it just still doesn't seem fair to those who have grown accustomed to some small pleasure.  Garden plots are getting more "popular" these days, but if your community even have plots, you have to be on a waiting list forever and there's not guarantee that you'll even get a spot.  Which is my little apartment patio will, for now, double as a place to put my pots (mostly succulents..haha, I'm not really good with anything else...but a tomato plant is in the works, just have to buy a pot)...anyways, if you're interested in viewing for this movie, you can check it out here. An Exciting Must See

I want to see this. Maybe you already did at Sundance...if so, I wanna know what you think...

Other movies that I've seen lately that I'd recommend:
  • X-Men Originals (I LOVE me some Wolverine!!!)
  • Monsters vs. Aliens 3-D (we've been seeing a lot of these lately. So fun. Plus the glasses make you look hot)

So I came across this post today and was amazed! I want to do something like this in my house too. I have no idea how it started or why, but when I was younger I collected matchbooks. People would always bring one back for me from cool places that I didn't get to go to (I still have that cool wooden one from Sweden Vee).  I admit that I'm still "collecting" (I'll take extra if they're cool!), but its more passive now.  I'll have to see if I can find something similar. :) Via Design*Sponge.
