Climbing? Climb on!

So, I got back last night from a camping/climbing trip in Joshua Tree. I've been wanting to go there for years and finally made a detour back during Memorial Weekend. So, this trip marks my 2nd time, and this time I got to climb. Now I've had my own gear for years and have been climbing very inconsistently for about 8 years so far (wow, has BYU really been that long ago?). I'm not very good, but love the sport. I've been much into other things lately, and haven't had easy accessibility (climbing partner, rocks, gear, ect.) to do much out here. They have indoor gyms, but I still need someone to go with me. ANYWAYS...this trip was great. I knew I wouldn't last long, but it just felt good again to test my Spidey abilities with people who share the same (and more) interest than I do. Not to mention I met people who want to go again. So, Rockreation, here we come. And Nick and Vee...hopefully its not to cold to break the equipment out for Thanksgiving. I have now become you're protege :)

Somethings in life should be free, right? I definitely think so:)

So, we stopped by the Ostrich Farm on our way to Auga Caliente for camping. Not only does this place sell ostrich jerky, but you can also get wood there (and did MIKEY need wood). ANYWAYS, I thought it extremely ridiculous and somewhat of a joke to see that wood was $25/wheel barrel full! We had the whole back of Mike's truck to fill with wood, and @ $25 a small wheel barrel??? Yikes! Especially when at home we can practically get it for free (at a physical cost maybe, but its still cheaper). I just think if funny. One would think that since trees in the wilderness are in the wilderness, you could just get wood for free. But like the rest of recreation in California, people use the "Great Outdoors" as a way to make money (yet another thing to capitalize after). I just hope some people think this is as funny and I did. Ha, ha...needless to say, we ended up getting a deal at $50 to fill the back of the truck (Jose was winking quite a bit at the guy, but I just thought he had something in his eye...?). So, I guess I should be happy since we did need wood. WORD.

.peace.

P.S. This is the 1st of will hopefully be many blogs on this site...a new year, a new blog site. Yeah, for 2008!
