In South-Western AZ...today was a good day.

F-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c. That's what word I'll use to describe today. We came to visit my sister this weekend in Golden Valley, AZ.  Thanks to one of her mother in laws, we were able to partake in the ever-so-scenic Sky Walk on the west side of the Grand Canyon (on the Hualapi Rez). The day included:
-The Skywalk (glass bridge 10 feet over a side slot of the grand canyon.
-Free t-shirts for us Hualapi's :)
-Helicopter tours
-Boat ride on the Colorado
-and free cake, peach cobbler, and other delicious food.
Not to mention the company was great (me, Leni, my sisters family, Ava and Wynn and family). These are only the couple pics I took with my phone. The rest that I took with my camera Jo uploaded on facebook. Anyways, it was fantastic and we had sooooo much fun. You should check it out if you're ever in the area!
Here's a short video of The Skywalk:

Lupus Foundation of America's 11th Annual Advocacy Day - Capitol Hill

Repost-March 3, 2009 is the Lupus Foundation of America’s 11th Annual Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill. Even if you cannot physically join us on Tuesday, there are still several things you – and your family and friends – can do to help raise awareness about the seriousness of lupus.
Call your Representative and Senators and tell them to provide more funding for lupus research. To find your Senators and Representative, go to http://www.capwiz.com/lfa and click on the link "Call your Members of Congress Tuesday, March 3rd!" Then you will enter your zip code, and get the contact info for your senators and representative.
Send an e-card. Raise awareness about lupus and the need for new treatments by sending your friends and family an e-card. Go here to send an e-card.
Donate. With your donation we can continue to fund cutting-edge lupus research. Go here to make a donation.
FacebookThere is one very simple thing you can do in Facebook. Below is suggested text that you can use for your status on your Facebook account for Tuesday, March 3, 2009. Encourage your family and friends to change their statuses as well.
"YOUR NAME is encouraging friends and family to support the LFA’s Advocacy Day. Tell Congress 50 years without a new FDA-approved lupus drug is too long http://www.capwiz.com/lfa"TwitterIf you have a Twitter account and are joining us for Advocacy Day, you can "tweet" your Advocacy Day experience. You might want to post updates such as "Heading to Capitol Hill now" or "Meeting with Senator Young."If you’re not able to be on Capitol Hill, you can still use your Twitter account to encourage people to call their Senators and Representatives, and raise awareness about the need for new, safe, tolerable, and effective treatments. Below are some suggested "tweets."

1 Glass of Creative Juice, please

So some of my favorite places to shop (excluding designer) is my beloved Antro and its sister company Free People (all under Urban Outfitters Inc.). I love their clothing and the style. Its pretty, soft, creative, unique, pricey, and original. I spend more of my money @ Antro (but not nearly as much as I'd like lol), since the nearest Free People store to me is in Torrance (excluding what items they have at Urban and Nordys, etc.). Anyways, I've been a fan of FP's blog for ages now and have recently decided to participate in some of the "craft" swaps they frequently have. My 1st was the Christmas swap. I exchanged gifts with a girl in NY. And she sent me some uber cute things (sooo creative!). They always do a Valentines Day Swap, of which I also participated in (making it my 2nd FP Swap). I've finally finished my gift (I was forgiven for being late! My item didn't turn out as planned so I had to opt to plan B...I'll post about that later). Anyways, this is what I ended up sending to my swap partner...You can see more of the swaps at the flickr, here.

I made this bracelet from a bunch of old jewlery that had taken apart long ago (glss, wood, and ceramic). I especially like the leaves:)

There were a series of 2 necklaces comprising glass seed beads and sterling silver, tied together with ribbon.

I Want to be Like MJ

So, I got this off MJ's blog, looked at my pics and decided to re-post. Enjoy.

RULES:
1. Go to the document/my pictures site on your computer
2. Go to the sixth file
3. Go to the sixth picture
4. Blog about it
5. Tag 6 people (do it if you like! I'm tagging everyone.)
This pic was from my "transient" stage in life. Hahahaa j/k I was actually in Utah, visiting for ??? The lovely Jr. Olympian Karen Gailey picked me up from the air port and we ended up at Antelope Island. I thought it would be cool (its sounded cool on-line).  And we really did want to swim in the Great Salt Lake (just to say we did). Well, it ended up stinking SO bad and we didn't get to close to the water near their "beach" area due to the infestation of flies! Ew. It was so gross. I imagined that's what plagues during bible times were like. Anyways, back to the pic. Her sister ended up going into labor this day so instead of having her drop me off in SLC I told her I'd catch the train down (we ran into Russ and Trudee @ Cafe Rio and after visiting with them at their house we found out that there was a train nearby that runs down town). So, I had Karen drop me off here, my luggage and all. It was funny and I did feel quite transient.  It was a fun little train ride (reminded me of the we took an adventure via Surfliner to Carlsbad after an overnight stay on the beach resulted in me loosing my keys during one of the midnight frolics...that's another blog in itself lol)! Anyways, Elle picked me and my huge bag of luggage up somewhere near the library and the trip ended up being a success. Whew. How's that for a description lol :)

Busy As a Beeee.....

Ay. Work has been especially busy lately. However, I cannot complain! Not only do I have a job, but I have lots, and lots of work right now (for now lol). So yeah for long days, early mornings and billable projects! Ahh...the wonderful world of consulting:)

Okay, and I've been working lately on NBC Universal's lot. For those of you who don't know, other clients of ours include Paramount Picture studios and other "lots" where they film. I'm frequently in these areas and I rarely see famous people (ooh, but I do get to run around sets, like Iron man, that was the coolest yet). Well, "Queen" was cruising the back lot yesterday and stepped out of one wicked car...no time to post it right now, but I'll upload the pics from my phone soon! Peace out homez....U.N.I.T.Y...oh yeah, and looks like Jenny Craig is working. Woman was sporting some skinny jeans...that def. made her look skinner than before!

Lucky #7...

So Mikey and Kelli got married this weekend, congrats Palmer family! The weekend took us to Vegas, to celebrate the festivites.  It was a great wedding and it was great to see everyone, especially my seester and her family:) (I'm pretty sure Yo'sea's the most beautiful baby around!) Anyways, since we were in Vegas, and were waiting for all the Hawaiians to jam, we found something to occupy our time. The results?

The top on was is Leni's. This is what was left after her put $20 in. The bottom one...mine:) How much did I put in? Nothing. Okay...so I used the dollar Leni gave me. Ahhh....I love 2 cent slots! So, the moral of the story?

Who Am I???

So in my attempts to be more righteous (actually we were going to VTing with Des...not to mention we made beautiful cuppy cakes for her b-day which was yesterday-Happy B-Day Des! Oh and gratis S-D!), anyways, I went to FHE tonight and our activity, personality tests. I like these and I think they're fun, and this one, for the most part was accurate. It was the basic color scheme/theme one, but I swear I remember years ago have a test with orange? Cause I swear I always think I'm orange...anyways, I'm not. Well, maybe I am. Cause it turned out I'm Red. and 2ndary yellow, so a Red-yellow mixed makes orange, right? hahaaa...oh, and so then I get home and start checking up on google reader and Veeduh has put up a link from Chinese New Year zodiac to which animial you are (which we are the same, a goat/sheep, baaa.a..lol) anyways, so I'm getting all this perosnaity stuff all at once! lol Well, turns out that my "goatness" isn't as accurate (in my humble opinon, correct me if I'm wrong) as my "red-yellowness." For example,

"...Comfortable being alone to ponder the workings of their inner minds, Goats enjoy being part of a group, but prefer the sidelines rather than the center. They’re quite and reserved because they spend much time absorbed in their thoughts. "

Anyone who knows me knows that is quite my opposite. As well as this,

"Goats at work prefer being part of a flock. Power and status aren’t important. Goats will only assume leadership roles when asked directly. They’ll never volunteer. Good career choices for Goats include: florist, interior designer, daycare teacher, pediatrician, actor, editor, hair stylist, illustrator, musician, and art history teacher. "
